Basic Vehicle Diagnostics

Know What Your Vehicle Is Telling You

Has a warning light appeared on your dashboard, or do you simply want to know what faults are currently stored in your vehicle?

Our Basic Diagnostic Service provides a professional electronic diagnostic scan of your vehicle, followed by a printed diagnostic report and a clear explanation of the results.

What’s Included

✓ Professional vehicle diagnostic scan
✓ Scan of accessible vehicle control modules
✓ Fault code identification
✓ Printed diagnostic report
✓ Clear explanation of the findings
✓ Initial advice on recommended next steps
✓ Fault codes cleared where appropriate and requested

What Will We Tell You?

Once the diagnostic scan is complete, a member of our team will go through the results with you.

Rather than simply handing you a list of fault codes, we’ll explain what the codes relate to, which systems are affected and whether further investigation is recommended.

You’ll also receive a printed diagnostic report for your records.

Important: A Fault Code Isn’t Always the Fault

A diagnostic trouble code can tell us where the vehicle has detected a problem, but it doesn’t necessarily identify the component that has failed.

For example, a fault relating to a sensor doesn’t automatically mean that the sensor needs replacing. Wiring, power supplies, mechanical problems or another component can sometimes be the underlying cause.

Our Basic Diagnostic Service is therefore ideal as a first-stage assessment.

If further testing is required to establish the actual cause of the problem, we’ll explain this to you and can recommend our Advanced Diagnostic Service.

Ideal For

Engine management lights, ABS or airbag warnings, recently appearing dashboard warnings, pre-repair fault checks and customers who want an initial overview of their vehicle’s electronic systems.
