With a successful BMW Apple CarPlay Activation Birmingham upgrade, compatible apps can appear on your BMW screen. Common examples include:

• Calls: access supported call and contact features.

Workshop BMW Apple CarPlay Activation Birmingham – £100

Bring your compatible BMW to the UTL Performance workshop in Yardley, Birmingham for professional Apple CarPlay activation. The standard workshop service is £100 and is intended to take approximately one hour, subject to vehicle configuration and any faults or additional hardware requirements.

• Pre-installation compatibility review based on supplied vehicle information.
• Relevant BMW infotainment-system activation or coding on an eligible vehicle.
• Connection and initial pairing checks where the car and a compatible iPhone allow.
• Explanation of how to find and use Apple CarPlay in the supported iDrive menus.

Optional Wi-Fi antenna – £50 extra

Some compatible BMW configurations may need a suitable Wi-Fi antenna for the intended CarPlay functionality. Where this requirement is identified and the installation is supported, we can supply and fit the Wi-Fi antenna for an additional £50. Not every vehicle needs this upgrade, and fitting an antenna does not by itself make an otherwise incompatible infotainment unit compatible.

Example workshop total: £100 activation + £50 Wi-Fi antenna where needed = £150. If no antenna is needed and no additional work is agreed, the workshop activation remains £100.

Same-day Birmingham appointments

BMW Apple CarPlay Activation Birmingham may be available on the same day, subject to a compatible vehicle, an actual booking slot and workshop approval. Our usual workshop hours are Monday–Saturday, 9:00am–6:00pm; Sunday is closed. For same-day requests, allow at least four hours before the proposed workshop appointment. A booking request is not confirmed until approved.

Remote BMW CarPlay activation – subject to eligibility

Can’t reach the Birmingham workshop? BMW Apple CarPlay Activation Birmingham is also offered as a remote activation service for certain compatible BMW vehicles. The remote process and price are confirmed after checking your model, infotainment system and the equipment available at your location.

Remote customers must have a suitable BMW ENET cable for the agreed procedure. If you do not already own one, UTL Performance may be able to supply an appropriate cable for an additional quoted cost. Please do not buy a cable before we confirm that it is the correct type for your vehicle and the intended activation method.

Any further remote-session requirements, such as a suitable computer, connectivity or supported software setup, will be confirmed in advance where applicable. We will explain the remote procedure and any extra charges before you proceed.

Workshop versus remote: which should you choose?

The £100 advertised workshop price is for eligible vehicles brought to our Birmingham premises. Remote activation is a separate arrangement and is not assumed to include the same price, an ENET cable or hardware fitting. If your BMW needs a Wi-Fi antenna installed, a physical fitting appointment or an agreed local installation solution may be necessary.

If remote activation is not supported for your particular BMW, we can discuss a workshop booking or a different retrofit option. Please contact UTL Performance with your vehicle details before ordering remote equipment.

Which BMW models can be activated?

Eligibility depends more on the installed BMW head unit, iDrive generation, software and wireless hardware than on the badge or registration year alone. Certain factory BMW navigation and infotainment systems support the required CarPlay functions; others need additional hardware or cannot be activated by software alone.
